Participating in therapy can result in several benefits to you, including reducing psychological symptoms, improving interpersonal relationships, increasing personal effectiveness and resolving specific concerns that brought you to counseling. However, therapy and/or counseling requires your active involvement, honesty and openness in order to experience growth and change. During therapy, you may experience discomfort by talking about unpleasant events, feelings or thoughts. It is possible for things to seem to get worse before they get better, and there is no guarantee of a positive result.

Twin Cities Community Hospital: 24-hour emergency counseling care is available through their emergency rooms. 805-434-3500. If the client cannot reach anyone through the above resources, you should dial 911.
